Located in the heart of Cambridge, this development involved the refurbishment of two Victorian terraced properties.
These were transformed into three properties, along with the rebuilding of neighbouring studios/workshops to create two, two-bedroom and one three-bedroom homes. At the rear of the site we created a two-bedroom loft style duplex apartment and a four-bedroom house.
Design Philosophy
Purchased as a commercial investment, this historic property was originally the workshop and home of F R Leach, the well-known Victorian stained glass artist and decorator who worked closely with William Morris and major architects of the time. Acquired directly from the family, the project was planned to preserve and respect the site’s rich heritage. It retained key architectural features while undergoing a significant refurbishment and adding new buildings on site.
By combining careful restoration with high-quality new construction, the project successfully revitalized the premises for modern commercial use while respecting its legacy as a landmark in Cambridge’s artistic history. The completed development continues to add long-term value to our commercial portfolio.
